Peru Photo Journal

Yes, it’s been a year and a half since we went to Peru and I am still writing the photo journal. There is a page of new content, and I am almost at the end of day four. (In other words, we haven’t been chased by the drunken, angry mob yet.)
Review of Moon Handbooks: Peru

The Moon Handbook to Peru has it flaws, but based on the worn condition of my copy it does come in handy. The hotel and restaurant sections cover all price ranges, from dirt-cheap backpacker hostels to luxury hotels and the restaurant recommendations were reliable. The handbook is written for active travelers and includes many hiking [...]
Review of Frommer’s Peru

Frommer’s Peru is a good, solid guide that covers the standard tourist attractions, hotels, and restaurants. If you’re interested in something unusual or out of the way, then you are out of luck. The first entries for the Peru Photo Journal are up (see link to the right.) Since I didn’t do a very good job keeping up with my trip journal while in Peru, accuracy is an issue.

Hurrah! We have a hotel for Aguas Calientes. We’ll be at Gringo Bill’s Hostal. That was a close call, now all we have to do is figure out how we are getting there. Don’t forget to pack a bathing suit, otherwise you’ll have to rent one at the hot springs.
